Every year during the same period, the food bank launches its annual collection in supermarkets throughout France in order to collect non-perishable foods.

Canned goods, diapers, powdered milk and some sweets. Anything that can be preserved is welcome. The food bank has been organizing this national collection for 40 years, with requests constantly increasing, reaching 30% more in 5 years. “We regularly see middle class people who come”, indicates Raymond Hayek, head of the Alpes-Maritimes food bank.

Faced with these needs, generosity does not weaken. In , the stand is full. “Teveryone can't eat enough, it's unacceptable, so we share with others”, declares a customer. This collection from the general public represents 10% of the food bank's provisions, the rest being provided by farmers, supermarkets and industry.
