The Tarn-et-Garonne Rural Coordination organized a dumping action in Montauban on the evening of Friday November 22, 2024. The prefecture and the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA) were targeted. In Moissac, it is the headquarters of the Public Treasury which has also seen its surroundings somewhat disturbed.
Agricultural discontent has not subsided in Tarn-et-Garonne. Every day, actions by different unions continue as part of the demonstrations which have never really stopped since the start of the year. But, in this month of November and in accordance with the promises of peasant organizations, they are much more regular.

The evening of Friday November 22, 2024 was somewhat hectic in Montauban. Around thirty demonstrators took part in an action to dump various waste. Two places were targeted during the mobilization claimed by Rural Coordination (CR 82): the prefecture and the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA). In front of the Hôtel des Intendants, yellow tags with the initials of the union were made on the concrete blocks which protect Place Foch.

Started around 10 p.m., the demonstration, which had not been declared to the prefecture, ended around midnight. The tractors were heard in the city of Ingres during their passage. This is particularly what triggered the intervention of police officers from the Montauban police station.
In Moissac, targeted taxes
At the same time, a second union action took place about thirty kilometers west of Montauban, in Moissac. This time, the spills took place in front of the local office of the Departmental Directorate of Public Finances (DDFiP). This time, it was the gendarmes from the Castelsarrasin company who were dispatched to the sidelines of this demonstration, which was not planned there either.
Already on Wednesday, November 20, the Rural Coordination of Lot-et-Garonne this time went to the Grand Sud Logistique base, in Montbartier, to the south of the Montalban agglomeration. She had blocked the trucks in the area where an Easydis warehouse is located, which serves as a rear base for the Intermarché du Sud-Ouest stores. A day which ended with an intervention by the CRS under the orders of the prefect, Vincent Roberti, since the action had not been in any way organized in advance.
Other actions planned at the start of the week
These actions are just the beginning. Because, already, the majority unions in Tarn-et-Garonne, the Departmental Federation of Farmers' Unions (FDSEA 82) and the Young Farmers (JA 82), are calling on their members to take part in a new action called “Festival des bennes”. “After the demands, we want answers: concrete measures, administrative simplification, making a living from our profession and putting an end to inconsistencies,” it is noted on the poster of the event.

The FDSEA and the JA, who proclaimed themselves “exterior decorators”, are launching an appeal for Tuesday November 26, 2024 at 7 p.m. in front of the headquarters of the first union. There is little doubt that the points already targeted previously (prefecture, MSA, Departmental Directorate of Territories) could be the subject of a new “decoration”. But not sure that it will be to the taste of the authorities.
