The storm Caetanowhich crossed France on Thursday November 21, 2024, will not have spared the department of Eure. “The electricity distribution network is facing challenges strong winds and snowfall which cause trees to fall on the cables,” explained the electricity distributor Enedis.

The most affected region is Normandy. At the end of the day, 1,500 homes were without electricity in Eure, and this figure increased up to 7,000, in the nightin 90 municipalities. Many homes are still in the dark this Friday morning. “The snow is still present this morning, which makes interventions difficult,” adds Enedis.

A thousand people are mobilized in the region to restore electricity. Helicopters and drones fly over the region to carry out diagnostics.

Enedis aims to resupply 90% of its customers by Saturday evening.

The Neubourg plateau heavily impacted

In the Neubourg plateau, many municipalities are affected.
