Death of Émile: a woman tried in Marseille after accusing the little boy’s grandfather

It was an affair that shook the whole of France. On July 8, 2023, little Émile S., aged two and a half, disappeared from his grandparents’ home, located in Haut-Vernet (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence). A major search system was set up in the evening, shortly after the little boy’s grandparents informed the police of his disappearance. On March 30, this affair had a tragic outcome. A hiker discovered the little boy’s bones. A woman living in the commune of La Bouilladisse, a commune in Bouches-du-Rhône, who claimed to exercise the function of town hall secretary there, was implicated in this affair.

She allegedly made several defamatory statements about the little boy’s grandfather, Philippe V., who worked as an osteopath in the same town, reported The mountain. Under a pseudonym, she allegedly posted several publications on Facebook, in which she allegedly made serious accusations about Philippe V. She allegedly insinuated that he was responsible for the child’s disappearance. Émile’s grandparents have decided to sue the woman for defamation, who was found by investigators using her IP address. The trial hearing is scheduled for July 11 in Marseille, our colleagues reported.

Other accusations made

The incriminated woman, who is presumed innocent, reportedly declared that she kept in her possession evidence that Émile S.’s grandfather was responsible for the child’s disappearance. She also allegedly accused Philippe V. of having touched some of his patients. She would also have specified that he would have committed Social Security fraud. Extremely serious comments for which she should respond this July 11 in Marseille.
