On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, discover an exhibition of objects and documents on the theme of odds and ends at the Maison du Patrimoine.
At the Schneider factories in Le Creusot, certain workers, trained to the rigor of the company’s schools, occasionally tinkered, before and after factory working hours, with various small everyday objects, utilitarian or decorative. Most of these tinkerings were carried out between 1920 and 1960 when the factory had thousands of workers. This leisure work, work for oneself, for pleasure, free, even fun – for which the “official” term is: the wig – was accepted by the leaders.
All the objects presented here have been loaned by collectors or are part of the collections of Nouvelles Éditions du Creusot.
