The 40th Restos du Cœur campaign has kicked off. For this year, the help provided to young children and single-parent families was highlighted in Châteauroux (Indre) and throughout the department, reports France 3 Center Val-de-Loire.
Volunteers are working hard to get everything ready for the launch of the new campaign. “We are fond of everything fresh produce, fruit and vegetables which will be redistributed the same day,” explains the local supply manager. He is also looking for hygiene products, particularly for young children.
300 children to help in Indre
Their goals are to support families and allow children to develop. To do this, volunteers now collect products specialized in childcare for up to 36 months. The Restos du Cœur also wish to better support single-parent families.
In France, 500,000 children under the age of 3 live below the poverty line. In Indre, the Restos du Cœur supports 300 of them. But this support does not stop at food and hygiene products. Volunteers also organize activities for these children.
