The Rivière-du-Loup 3L organization confirmed that it had added an important element to its training for the next season, this Thursday, June 27. The team will count on Alexandre Mallet, a native of Amqui who has played at the professional level for more than 10 years in North America and Europe.

The former 2nd round pick of the Vancouver Canucks in 2012, a 6’1, 220 pound forward, returns to Rivière-du-Loup with recent experience of 63 games in the Magnus League where he amassed 70 points. He took the opportunity to earn two championship rings.

He also has 170 games of experience in the ECHL where he amassed 119 points. He had a stint in the American League where he played 77 games and a stint in the DEL and the Czech Republic.

Back in Quebec, the player who was trained by the Albatros is happy to join the 3L.

“It’s a major addition for us. Alex is a pro and an impact forward addition to our lineup. It fits perfectly into our structure. He’s a big guy who can do pretty much everything on the ice. He will occupy an offensive role in our lineup. The fans will appreciate it,” declared general manager Fabien Dubé.
