After the success of its first edition, the Agadir international carnival returns this year with a rich and diverse program, indicates a press release from the organizers.

This is a conference entitled “the carnival and the territorial attractiveness of the city” where Moroccan experts and researchers and their counterparts from France and Switzerland will shed light on different aspects of this heritage with a focus on its role in the promotion of the territory.

Furthermore, this event will invite, for this edition, carnival troupes from four African countries who will parade on the main avenue Mohammed V with local associations and young people from the city.

This event is part of the Agadir Communal Action Plan (PAC), in its dimension which aims to promote the Amazigh cultural heritage which constitutes the identity of the city of Agadir, making it a capital of Amazigh culture.

It is intended to be an international platform which brings together in a festive and unique atmosphere, young talents from Morocco and elsewhere, to exhibit their creative potential in terms of disguise, mask and artistic performance, in front of thousands of admiring spectators. of this ancestral heritage.

The best performances will be awarded in the following categories: best costume (group and individual), best mask, and best carnival troupe.

The international carnival of Agadir, Biyelmawn is also a crowning achievement of all the festivities organized in the different provinces and prefectures of the Souss-Massa region throughout the days of the Eid Al Adha celebration.

It is organized by the urban commune of Agadir in partnership with the Souss-Massa Regional Council and the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, via the Souss Massa center for cultural development.
