On December 1st, as part of the 8th round of the Coupe de France, it is finally the USSA Vertou team (N3) in Loire-Atlantique, which will meet Saint-Denis FC (SDFC) in , and not the Philibertine Sports Union, a club also playing in N3.

The players from Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu, in Loire-Atlantique, were happy to come and meet their opponents under the Reunion sun. But their joy was short-lived.

Wednesday November 20, the French Football Federation (FFF) responded favorably to an appeal filed by USSA Vertou, after its match against Etoile Maritime (R2), a club from Aytré in Charente-Maritime, during the 7th round . Stressing that the license of one of the players of the Charente club was not valid.

Following the recognition of this fault by the FFF, USSA Vertou is therefore considered winner of its match against Etoile Maritime, despite a defeat on the field, and therefore advances to the 8th round of the Coupe de France… It qualifies for the trip to Reunion Island instead of Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu, according to the rules of the overseas draw.

On December 1, the Vertou club will face the SDFC. The Dionysians hope to be able to play on their own ground, at the Jean Ivoula stadium. This is not the first trip to Reunion Island for the Loire-Atlantique team. In 2015, USSA Vertou faced US Sainte-Marienne, and lost on penalties (3-0).
