Who will be in the casting? Elips? Big Bertha? Sarah Forever? Mami Watta? Moon? Ginger Bitch? Magnetica? Ruby on the Nail? For now, the mystery remains. The only certainty is that the next season of “Drag Race ” will be an “All Stars” edition, as France Télévisions announced this Thursday on social networks.

In other words, the competition, derived from the American concept “RuPaul's Drag Race”, will see the most notable drag queens from the first three seasons compete again. In recent weeks, the production teams of the show broadcast on France 2 have attended the shows of the artists concerned in order to make their selection. Filming should be scheduled for early 2025 with a view to broadcast in late spring.

Second chance

The “All Stars” editions, which therefore offer a second chance to win the crown to drag performers who did not win their season, are a must in most international “Drag Race” franchises.

Note that several French queens have already participated in foreign versions, such as La Grande Dame in “Drag Race UK vs The World” in the United Kingdom, La Kahena in “Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs The World” and Soa de Muse in the “Global All Stars”.

Since its launch in 2022, “Drag Race France” has established itself as a television phenomenon which has made it possible to open the French drag scene to a wider audience, to convey important messages on the struggles of the LGBT+ community and to 'evoking the experiences of LGBT+ people.
