The Charrel district of Aubagne is preparing a major popular festival “open to all to break prejudices”

A festive moment to celebrate 50 years of shared history but above all, to restore the image of the neighborhood. Saturday, June 29, the whole of Charrel is celebrating on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, which promises to be special in many ways.

Street names and many activities

“It’s an opportunity to show a positive image of the neighborhood, as it really is, poses Sabrina Chikhi, member of the Aubagnaide association which oversees the evening and resident of the residence. It is a neighborhood full of wealth, accomplished artists and others in the making. We are going to show all this to the Aubagnais and break down prejudices.”

And the association has seen big for its “popular festival open to all”. A vast program from 4 p.m. to midnight which will see the first street names of the residence, which had been devoid of them for five decades, inaugurated by the City.

On the activities side, there are inflatable games for children, a fairground area as well as cotton candy stands. At the community center, a photo exhibition looks back on these 50 years of history for the curious.

Science for all

Moreover, many associations will have stands, including the Petits débrouillards who popularize science for the little ones. Before an aperitif dinner is given within the residence, offered to the participants.

At nightfall, a short film shot by Satis cinema students giving voice to the inhabitants of Charrel of all ages will be screened before giving way to the musical festivities which also promise to be generous.

Music and show

The young rapper Loay, who appeared on the show Planète Rap and Dream Team on TF1, will give a show at the height of his 14 years. Before giving way to a hip-hop show by the company En Phase of Miguel Nosibor, another child from the neighborhood. But also to the local group Metisséa and a DJ, just to end the evening with music. And to show that the Charrel has much more to offer Aubagne than some would have us believe.
