This is the highest number for Belgium since 1989 when 36 Belgians took part in the Grande Boucle.
After France (32), Belgium is lining up the largest number of riders at the start of this 2024 Tour, who will try to reach Nice where the finish will be judged on July 21. The Champs-Élysées, where the finish has traditionally been judged since 1975, are already monopolized by the Paris Olympics (from July 26 to August 11).
This is the first time since 1903 that the finish of the Tour de France will not take place in Paris. The Champs-Élysées welcomed the arrival of the Grande Boucle for the first time on July 20, 1975.
Last year, there were 21 Belgians at the start for 18 in 2022.
