Brandon, a 29-year-old resident of Amay, the former associate of Orlan Mélon, is suspected of having ordered this murder. He appeared detained to answer for his involvement in several cannabis plantations and in the sale of narcotics. “It was Orlan who affected the most of the plantationss”, indicated the man who is suspected of having decided on his execution. “I got my supplies from Orlan Mélon. I became friends with him when he got out of prison. Orlan Mélon asked me for a hand at the end of the planting because he was late.”
“He was placed because I had drug problems.“
At his side, several relatives of Orlan Mélon, including Cindy, 46, a resident of Braives who is none other than Orlan Mélon’s mother. “I am Orlan Mélon’s mother“, she told the judge. “He asked me several times to set up a cannabis plantation at my home. I refused several times before saying yes“, she conceded. “It was Orlan who took care of the plantation, not me.“The mother then clarified, upon question from the judge, the reasons why her son had been placed when he was a child.”The SAJ was seized. He was placed with his grandparents when he was nine years old because I myself had drug problems. His placement lasted three years“, continued the mother before explaining that she had been hospitalized for depression after the assassination of her son.
The defendants are being prosecuted for having set up plantations in Braives and Houffalize. They also sold cannabis, but also some cocaine. The prosecution has already announced that it will request confiscations by equivalent for the sum of 848,000 euros, but also four cars and the houses which housed the cannabis plantations since they were used to commit the offense .
Other hearings are planned to hear the indictment and the lawyers’ pleadings.
