The A12 motorway was closed on Wednesday evening in both directions between Vevey (VD) and Châtel-St-Denis (FR), following an accident linked to the first snowfall.

The A12 motorway was closed on Wednesday evening in both directions between Vevey (VD) and Châtel-St-Denis (FR), following a traffic accident linked to the first snowfall. One person was slightly injured.

The accident, which took place at the bottom of the section, in the downward direction, involved between seven to eight vehiclesindicates a spokesperson for the Vaud cantonal police.

Traffic is severely disrupted in the area concerned, in particular due to rescue and repair operations:

“We can hope to see an opening for a return to normal around 11 p.m. to midnight”
