The Top 14 rugby final for the first time in Marseille on June 28

This year, the Top 14 rugby final is being played in Marseille for the first time!

Friday June 28 at 9 p.m., the Orange Vélodrome stadium welcomes Toulouse and Bordeaux-Bègles, the two finalists who – at the end of the 2023-2024 season – have earned the right to compete to lift the prestigious Brennus Shield.

A Rugby Village on the Old Port

On the occasion of the final, the National Rugby League – in partnership with the City of Marseille – is organizing a Rugby village called “Top 14 Extra Tour” on the Old Port (Fraternity quay).

In the program, free activities open to all (rugby fans or beginners, young or old), fun and inclusive around the oval ball in a festive and friendly atmosphere.

  • Initiation au rugby
  • Giant HakaPassing and Penalty Competition
  • Quiz
  • Photobooth
  • Exhibition of the Brennus shield…

Former professional players as well as local clubs will be present in the village to contact visitors.

Meet at the Old Port, Quai de la Fraternité
Friday 28 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 29 June from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The two finalists in brief

The Toulouse stadium – current title holder and already 22-time French champion – is the ogre of this final with his track record and his host of internationals (Romain N’Tamack, Thomas Ramos and the star of the moment Antoine Dupont, among others. ..).

In front, Bordeaux-Bègles Union is clearly the outsider since the Girondins are reaching the final for the first time in their history. But the team continues to strengthen (several internationals also in its ranks) and progress (in the semi-finals of the Top 14 these last four years). Suffice to say that the UBB intends to sell its skin dearly and create a surprise.
