The department of Moselle presented, this Tuesday, November 19, the2024 edition of Moselle Christmases from the Meisenthal Glass Art Center. From November 22 to December 30, Mosellans will be able to enjoy the traditional Christmas markets, but also major light shows, such as the Metz Lantern Trail and the Luminescences festival at the Amnéville Zoo.
Of the big news are worth mentioning, like the “Winter Lights” in the Sainte-Croix park, the “Halle aux Lumières” in Meisenthal and the Chemin des Lanternes in the Hausen castle park, in Hombourg-Haut.

Metz
The capital of Moselle will open its Christmas market from November 22 to December 30. Visitors can notably find the Sentier des Lanternes 2024, with its more than 2,000 light points, or take a tour of the Qualité MOSL chalet, located on Place de la République. This year, the latter welcomes 53 local producers.

Amnéville
The new edition of the Luminescences lantern festival is visible from October 19, 2024 to March 29, 2025 at the Amnéville Zoo. This year, she is taking visitors to Southeast Asia, with the theme “Magic Indies”. Discover it in pictures by clicking here.
Rhodes
The “Winter Lights” course will be visible from December 13 at the Sainte-Croix Animal Park. The organizers promise a unique luminous immersion accompanied by an educational message about nature. The goal is to learn while being amazed.
Meisenthal
The International Glass Art Center of Meisenthal is more involved than ever in Moselle Christmas. Visitors will be invited to discover the “Halle aux Lumières” show on site, a luminous immersion in the form of a story, visible from November 22 to December 29.
Forbach
The Forbach Christmas market will begin on November 30 and end on December 23. Mosellans and tourists will find a lantern trail in Schlossberg Park. To get around in a fun and ecological way, simply take the little train which will connect the Schlossberg to the city center, and vice versa.
Hombourg-Haut
The market, to be found from November 30 to December 22, will be placed under the sign of Christmas Magic. For the first time, visitors will be able to walk a Lantern Path in the grounds of Hausen Castle.
Sarrebourg
From November 30 to December 29, Christmas will return to Sarrebourg. The atmosphere will be festive with a craft market, a Giant Ball Trail and a lantern trail.
Sierck-les-Bains
Santa Claus' village will open from November 30 to December 22 in Sierck-les-Bains. New this year is the presence of a medieval Christmas market with blacksmiths, basket makers and weavers. Tales in light will make their return to Valette Park.

“Moselle Christmases” serving tourist attractiveness
The winter festivals are a priority for the department, which wishes to assert itself as a tourist destination of first choice, in summer and winter. You have to be able to differentiate yourself to really fit into the competition of territories and to compete with its Alsatian neighbor.
The brand of “Christmas of Moselle” appears, year after year, as an effective lever to encourage communities to engage in the process and to qualitatively improve their offer to obtain this distinction, and the promotion that accompanies it.
Noël de Moselle is a guarantee of quality and authenticity. It's not about putting up a Christmas tree and baubles to be part of it, but you need an identity. Our desire is for each territory to develop its own theme.
