The Cognacq-Jay municipal museum, located in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, was “the target of a very violent robbery” this Wednesday, November 20 in the morning, the capital's town hall announced in a press release.
“The city of Paris strongly condemns this violent action during which several objects were stolen. The assessment of the damage is underway,” continues the municipality.
This burglary took place while the public and security officers were already on the scene. “No injuries were reported. The municipal police and the national police intervened immediately following the events,” assures the Paris town hall.

The city of Paris announces that it is filing a complaint, and assures that it stands “alongside the agents and remains at the disposal of the Police Prefecture so that the perpetrators of the acts are identified”. An investigation has been opened.
A psychological and listening unit has been set up. This is intended both for agents and visitors present on site, “who have demonstrated great professionalism and an exemplary attitude in the face of this situation”, according to the town hall.
