News – Val-de-Travers – [Parole aux Partis] The Socialist Party of Val-de-Travers welcomes the internalization of the Barak youth center

During the meeting of November 18, 2024, the General Council approved by a large majority the internalization of the Barak youth center. The Socialist Group warmly welcomes this decision, which guarantees a future for an essential structure for the youth of our region.

The Barak youth center has established itself as a valuable place, appreciated by its users and recognized by professionals. This space allows young people to meet, exchange and grow in an environment conducive to their personal and collective development.

Far from being limited to its direct activities, the youth center plays a major role in the social cohesion of Val-de-Travers. By creating bridges between generations, reducing the risks of social exclusion and promoting values such as mutual assistance, respect and citizenship, it contributes to a more harmonious and inclusive society.

During this session, the General Council also approved a motion tabled by the socialist group for the municipality to find solutions to have public toilets in our different villages, for the benefit of the population and tourists. This measure is part of an approach aimed at improving the quality of life and the attractiveness of our region.

Furthermore, we also welcome the adoption of a motion, asking the municipality to cover part of the travel costs of young people in training. This decision marks an important step forward in supporting young people and their families and is an objective of the Socialist Group for this legislature.

Finally, the socialist group, like the entire General Council, also accepted the credit for the renovation of the Grand-Rue and the rue Saint-Gervais which will make it possible to restore conviviality and attractiveness to two streets which had much needed.
