Change of president, development… The Racing Club Pays de Grasse opens a new chapter

The Racing Club Pays de Grasse is undergoing its transformation. After the Cheton era which saw the club restructure, professionalize and take places of honor in N2 (twice 2nd and twice 3rd), another chapter of the club opens.

The launch of the SAS shutdown procedure began on April 30, in consultation with the DNCG, and has been effective since then. Today, Thomas Dersy, general director until then, will become an investor in the same way as the others and will take care of the management of the senior division.

“We have written the most beautiful pages in the history of the club. I would like to thank Jean-Philippe (Cheton) for everything he did. I gained more than a president, a friend. Today, there remains the association with the youth and women’s center led by Fred Guastaldi and the seniors’ center (N2 and the reserve team) by Teddy Pellerin and myself. »

Teddy Pellerin is the present and the future of the RCPG. Born in Peymeinade, studied in Grasse, he is the co-founder of Heetch (French-style VTC).

“We received an email 18 months ago, we thought it was a joke ! sourit Dersy. We then got on the phone with him and we talked for 3 hours! »

“Teddy wants to know how a club works from the inside, the one in Grasse suits him perfectly since he is from here. His family lives in Grasse. He is not the president but is part of a group of shareholders who want to live a human adventure. With him, we have mobilized entrepreneurs in Paris. The next step is to find local shareholders. Our goal is to have around thirty, including J.-P. Cheton, and 70 to 80 in two years. Without forgetting, of course, the support of the town hall.”

With a view to its development, the RCPG works on two axes: development of the shareholder division and development of its fan base on social networks (TikTok, Instagram, etc.).

“We want to open the club to the fans so that it becomes even more popular. We already have a video that has exceeded 100,000 views! »

With a touch of humor, offbeat and a slogan: “Professional… or almost!” »

Finally, despite a 10% reduction in the budget (800-850,000 euros), “we are aiming for 1.2 million within 2-3 years”the club remains ambitious even if it does not want to announce too high an objective.

“We don’t feel inferior to other teams. You will have to come and play us! » lance Thomas Dersy.

The RCPG will resume training on July 8.

We can’t wait to see him again in La Paoute.
