The Super U brand takes over the Casino in this town of Seine-et-Marne

There are changes at 50 rue de la Clé des Champs in Magny le Hongre. The Casino supermarket comes under the Super U brand. The opening took place this Thursday, November 14.

“We had more than 1 500 clients the first day is a good start,” rejoices Simon Rouxel. This X-HEC Entrepreneur Master student works in close collaboration with Céline Tondeur, “U associate” already at the head of the Roissy-en-Brie, Couilly-Pont-aux-Dames store and soon the future Super U which will open Coupvray.

“When the opportunity arose to take over the Casino, Céline Tondeur immediately positioned herself to make it more than just a convenience store,” he continues. “It’s a real alternative, between RapidMarket and the most expensive Auchan in France. » For the team, the objective is also to make the brand known in the sector before the opening in Coupvray planned for the first half of 2026.

Several new services

To “revitalize” the store 1 500 m²the team has carried out a good amount of work and highlights two things. The extent of the shelves and the diversity of products as well as the price. “We can find everything and we have made several notable improvements,” emphasizes Simon Rouxel. He thus evokes a beer cellara rhave cheese by the cut and a wide range of local productsas well as a promotional area.

The store has also taken over the entire team from the former Casino and its director, Benjamin Costalat was previously deputy director of the Super U in Couilly-Pont-aux-Dames. A certain number of services have been retained (photo booth, FDJ, printer, press, packages) and others added: UberEats et Shopopop. And ATM will be installed soon.

Cheaper

On the price side, the brand prides itself on being on average “20 to 25% cheaper” than those previously practiced by the Casino. Note also that for the launch of the store, until November 21, Super U is offering €10 from €40 of purchases, to be used between November 22 and December 1.
