The date has been announced for several weeks. This Thursday, a strike by railway workers against the disappearance of SNCF freight will disrupt part of the Ile-de-France public transport traffic, the company announces in a press release published this Tuesday.
Indeed, several RER and transiliens lines operated by Transilien SNCF Voyageurs for Île-de-France Mobilités will see trains canceled throughout the day of the social movement.
One in three trains for the RER D
Thus, on the RER B line one train out of two to the north (from Gare du Nord), and three trains out of four to the south (from Châtelet-les-Halles) will be effective.
Same fate for lines H (from Gare du Nord to Creil and Luzarches) and N (from Montparnasse station to Rambouillet, Dreux and Mantes-la-Jolie) where on average only one train in two will run.
The situation will be more disrupted on the RER D and the Transilien line R where on average only one train in three will run. To certain destinations, no trains will run all day. (see image below).
On the RER E (3 trains out of 4 on average) and on the RER C and lines J (Saint-Lazare to Gisors and Vernon-Giverny) and U (La Défense to La Verrière), these are two trains out of three on average which will circulate.
Normal traffic on the rest of the network
According to the SNCF press release, the other lines will operate almost normal traffic. To avoid the inconvenience of the situation as much as possible, Transilien recommends that travelers who can do so limit their trips planned for Thursday, November 21 and favor teleworking.
For those unable to postpone their journey, it is recommended to go to the Île-de-France Mobilités application, the transilien.com site or the SNCF CONNECT application to consult the route calculators, which are updated the day before at 5 p.m. as well as to check train timetables, before going to the station.
