Thierry Noël is the degrowth candidate for the third constituency of Aveyron.
Not overwhelmed by the single vote collected in 2022 in Nant during the last legislative campaign, Thierry Noël did not hesitate for a second to leave for this new early election. On his bike, a Peugeot Hélium 77 “found in a flea market in Millau that I wanted to give to my daughter”he drinks a coffee, in Saint-Georges-de-Luzençon, a short break in his tour of the communes.
For this new and rapid campaign, the man in the hat, whose stronghold is the shadow of a tree at Place de la Capelle in Millau, supports the ideas and colors of Jean-Marc Governatori of the Ecology at the Center party, created in 2004. “Ecology is not just right, left, or center, presents the South Aveyron candidate. She is for everyone and more responsible to move forward.” He has always supported the idea of degrowth and continues to display it on the dedicated display. “I am the least radical when it comes to degrowth. Even if the word is a bit radical to be understood, Pierre Rabhi speaks of sobriety… I could talk about it for 3 hours!”
From Marseille to Millau
The meeting with Governatori takes the adopted South Aveyron native back to his years in Marseille, where he rubbed shoulders with Renaud Muselier and Jacques Bompard. “My ballots did not arrive at the most important polling stations like Belsunce because of Muselier,” remembers Thierry Noël. With 16 years of experience, “I’m surfing this campaign”, concedes the degrowth candidate. His budget is far from that of his opponents, €500 of personal savings, no more. “I will deprive myself of certain things, but that’s okay. I’m playing an exciting, dangerous game, with my rules.”
“Sympathy” for Jean-François Rousset
During his last campaign, Thierry Noël, although a candidate, clearly supported Michel Rhin, representative of Nupes. No question this time of supporting someone else. “Maybe I would get along well with him,” he slips while talking about Richard Bouigue, candidate of the New Popular Front. Then, he mentions Jean-François Rousset, outgoing deputy of the presidential majority. “I would almost be ready to ride for him because he is so nice! I greeted his victory in 2022 with a lot of humility and some took it as a betrayal.”
Objective 300 votes
For this new election, “If my calculations are correct, I could get around 300 votes, with a little luck, I get 530, that would give me one vote compared to 2017!” Unlike in 2022, ballot papers in his name should be in place in the polling stations of the third constituency of Aveyron. “But the truck for the professions of faith did not arrive on time, the visibility is not excellent… A friend should post them on Facebook for me.” A trip to Saint-Rome-de-Cernon to greet Pierre Pantanella, stick up a few posters with the equipment attached to his mount and Thierry Noël will turn back, attacking the coast of Saint-Georges on his biclou to return to his home in the other side of the Viaduct.
