On June 23, Jibril Mulard, 18, was killed in front of his friend in Niort (Deux-Sèvres). A 20-year-old suspect has been indicted. He said he wanted to steal their phones.
“Two men came to the Niort police station (Deux-Sèvres) and admitted to being involved in the death and serious injuries that occurred the same morning »explains Julien Wattebled, public prosecutor of Niort.
The crime was committed on the night of June 22 to 23, in the Port-Boinot district of Niort. Jibril Mulard and his friend, aged 18, join up to hang out in the city. As they sit on a bench, three teenagers walk up to them and try to steal their phones. Jibril Mulard and his sidekick try to escape, in vain. And everything escalates when one of the attackers pulls out a knife. Jibril’s friend also pulls out a bladed weapon. The blades fuse. Jibril Mulard then received a stab in the abdomen, and his friend was seriously injured. Alerted, the neighbors called emergency services who transported the two young people to hospital. Despite the care provided, Jibril Mulard died of his injuries the next day. The second victim underwent emergency surgery and his condition is now stabilized.
Two police custody and one indictment
When arrested, one of the three suspects claims that it was Jibril Mulard and his friend who attacked them. As the story progresses, he finally recognizes the facts. His two associates will go to the police station the next day. Only one of them is indicted for « murder » et « attempted murder ». He would be the author of the fatal stabbing. However, he was left free, under judicial supervision…
