Celebrate Canada Day: outdoor activities and shows

The Laurentians are preparing to celebrate Canada Day with days full of entertainment and special activities for the whole family. Whether you are a local resident or a visitor, head to, among other places, Mont-Tremblant, Arundel, Sainte-Agathe or Morin-Heights to enjoy a day filled with outdoor entertainment and patriotic celebrations.

Mont Tremblant
The event will begin with the traditional raising of the Canadian flag at Place des Voyageurs at 1 p.m.
At 2 p.m., Place Saint-Bernard will vibrate to the sound of The Gracefully Hip, a tribute band dedicated to the Canadian rock group The Tragically Hip. With a 90-minute repertoire including hit songs like Up to Here, Road Apples, Fully Completely, and Phantom Power, the band promises a captivating concert for fans of Canadian rock. The Gracefully Hip is made up of five passionate musicians who have decided to bring their talents together to honor the musical legacy of Gordon Downie and his friends.
Throughout the day, the festivities will include activities for children with a professional makeup artist on hand to transform the faces of young ones into living works of art. Additionally, fun activities such as hula hooping will be available to entertain young and old.
Nicolas Dien, director of events at the Mont-Tremblant resort association, warmly invites all residents and visitors to join the festivities: “It’s a day that will begin with a flag raising and continue with activities various for the whole family. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating.” He adds: “Beyond the show, come and enjoy the activities; go to a restaurant, go sledding, etc. All activities are open for Canada Day. »

Arundel
The celebrations extend over several days: on Friday June 28 there will be a community dinner which will combine food and music. Saturday, June 29 will feature an Arundel Farmers’ Market and picnic.
On July 1, there will be a flag raising, plaque unveiling, parade, family Olympics, cake contest, bubble show and music performances. Les Folzaliées will present an interactive show at 2:30 p.m. with various instruments and dance. From 1:30 p.m., other musical shows will take place including Victor Courte and Florian Gaudreau as well as the groups Pipe Dream and Forgotten Frequency.
And finally, to end the evening, an ambient fire will be lit, where you will be able to toast your marshmallows.

Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts
The festivities will begin at 8 p.m. and at 9 p.m. the Rick Hughes show will begin at Place Lagny. Then, at 10:30 p.m. the laser show will begin.

Morin-Heights
In Morin-Heights, a musical evening is planned with a double bill. From 7 p.m., Brian Tyler & The Bluestorm, in its eight-piece band, will host the stage, followed by Canadian group The Box at 9 p.m. Activities for children, inflatable games, a pet therapy area with small animals, fireworks and much more will be offered throughout the day.
There will also be a BBQ and bar service from 2 p.m. It will also be possible to meet the city’s firefighters and police officers.
At 3:30 p.m. you can enjoy a Scottish dance performance.
At 4:30 p.m., it will be time for the traditional egg toss.
At 5:15 p.m. there will be Latin dance entertainment.
At 6:30 p.m., it will be time for Canada Day cake
Finally, at 10:30 p.m. it will be time for the raising of the flag and fireworks.
