It is the largest investment of the Greater Paris South conurbation this year in terms of creating cycle paths. On Monday November 18, 2024, the works development of a itinerary of 4 km fitted out between Carré Sénart in Lieusaint (Seine-et-Marne) and Saint-Pierre-du-Perray (Essonne) have begin.

Traffic restrictions on Boulevard Christian-Jullien

This first phase of the project takes place at the level of boulevard Christian-Jullien and should last a month.

To enable the work to be carried out properly, restrictions de circulation are implemented during the day between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., traffic is prohibited on Boulevard Christian-Jullien in the direction of rue des Cygnes towards the RD947 route de Lieusaint until December 2.

Then, the next day and until December 19, traffic will be prohibited in the other direction from the RD947 Route de Lieusaint towards rue des Cygnes.

After the work, there will remain two lanes dedicated to cars

The second installment will take place next January and February and will concern the other part of Boulevard Christian-Jullien as well as Allée de la Tolérance.

This 4 km cycle path, included in the city's cycle plan (two million euros for 2024), will be installed on two of the four lanes of the road.

Thus, once the cycle path is completed, there will only remain, in each of the two directions of traffic, a single lane dedicated to cars, which, according to the urban area, “remains compatible with road traffic, which is very moderate on this axis.

In the amount of 483 000 euros, this work also provides for separation edges to guarantee the safety of cyclists.

“More safety and comfort” for cyclists

This cycle path is intended to resolve the discontinuity of the existing cycle route between Saint-Pierre-du-Perray and Saint-Germain-lès-Corbeil, and the network of gentle paths existing at Carré Sénart.

“This new cycle path will bring greater safety and comfort to the many cyclists who were forced to take the double track until then, or the TZen’s own site, to get to Carré Sénart,” adds Dominique Vérots, mayor of Saint-Pierre-du-Perray.

For the councilor, the track which will serve the future Sénart high school “completes the transformation into an urban boulevard of a city entrance axis”.
