Toulouse tried, Toulouse counterattacked, Toulouse could have equalized… But in the end, PSG remained undefeated in Ligue 1 (3-0). Story of a match that was all in all well played by the Toulouse team who did well, but who were cut up by the second knives of the Parisian armada.
Toulouse staggers, Paris hums
The Parc des Princes is hardly welcoming. The kick-off takes place in the rain and the biting cold (3° on the pitch). To avoid shivering, the Toulouse supporters sing and dance as they turn. Paris, still undefeated in Ligue 1, advances with a reshuffled squad (six starters absent), to rest certain executives after the international break and prepare for the match of its season, the following Tuesday, on the pitch of the Bayern Munich. The two teams initially play rather well and multiply the opportunities by responding almost in quick succession.
The Toulouse residents try the counter-attack trap. Unfortunately, the score was suddenly unlocked by a low volley from João Neves (35ᵉ). The midfielder, whose defensive actions had until then disgusted the Toulouse attackers, was in the path of an excellent cross from Achraf Hakimi and left Guillaume Restes planted and powerless on his line. Halftime score: 1-0. The Parisians confiscated the ball and played without forcing.
TéFéCé stunned by the PSG B team
The Violets are gradually fading away against the play of Luis Enrique's men. Warren Zaire-Emery even believes he is doubling the stake, but Marcos Asensio is signaled offside (54e). The Occitans did not lay down their arms and came very close to equalizing. First on an action by Zakaria Aboukhlal who was caught as if by a miracle by Zaire-Emery (69ᵉ) while he was going to shoot the Ile-de-France doorman. The Parisian, however, almost cost his team a goal, losing the ball to Shavy Babicka who sent him to the stands after his one-on-one with the goalkeeper (71e). In the process, defender Charlie Cresswell finds himself alone in Matvey Safonov's area but does not target his header (73e). The match is played on these non-equalizations.
If Tef supporters could still believe in a return of theirs, it is without counting on the sharpness of Lucas Beraldo (84e) which shakes the nets. Frank Magri and Gabriel Suazo got in the way of the action. The visitors are stunned and Vitinha takes advantage of a pass from Kolo Muani to make the break (90e+1), and ensure that the score reflects the difference in level between the two training courses. Paris puts an end to Toulouse's good series.
TFC's next match will be Sunday December 1, at home, against Auxerre. The promoted will precede the runner-up of PSG, namely Monaco, on December 7.
