Priority to babies and single-parent families: Restos du coeur are launching their 40th food distribution campaign on Tuesday, in an increasingly complicated context, with more and more people in difficulty, particularly babies.
3000: this is the number of babies helped by the Restos du Coeur de l'Isère, which is launching their 40th food distribution campaign this Tuesday. “We are talking about babies from 0 to 36 months, there are more and more of them“, worries Jean-Paul Cézard, president of Restos du Cœur de l'Isère. “Their parents have difficulties, they deprive themselves to try to feed the children, balanced food for their little ones“.
Over time, the public met by the association has diversified and the number of families has increased. Among the beneficiaries, a quarter are single-parent families: “Isolated mothers, often raising their children alone, they represent nearly a quarter of the population of Restos du Coeur.“, confirms Jean-Paul Cézard.
The Restos du Coeur are still looking for volunteers
The Restos du coeur, which provide 35% of food aid in France, are looking for one-off or regular volunteers. “In the Grenoble area, we are 700 volunteers, and 1,600 in total in Isère, but this is still not enough, since we will increase our activities to cope with the influx of students“, says the president of Restos du Cœur de l'Isère. “Tomorrow evening, we will inaugurate an additional distribution point dedicated to them on rue Nicolas Chorier“..
