“We have slightly diverted the slogan “The Channel, change your point of view”smiles the general secretary of the Young Farmers of La Manche. In the rain and the wind, a hundred farmers from the entire department met this Monday evening on the Corniche of Barneville-Carteret, on the west coast of Cotentin. They symbolically installed three construction site radars, stolen from several places in the department. “There was no damage”underlines the secretary general of the JA de la Manche. On each device, we see a large sticker with the word Mercosur crossed out. “It’s a way of saying that we are monitoring imports that come by sea”indicate the unions: in other words, Argentinian or even Brazilian products on the other side of the Atlantic, affected by this free trade treaty between the European Union and several South American countries which could be signed during the G20 in Brazil.
“We are very satisfied with this action, especially since we had young people from the South Channel, explains Etienne Cousin. We're staying soft for the moment, but we grant ourselves the right to gain strength.” Panel covering actions are possible in the department.
