The Lion’s Club of Montauban organized the ninth edition of En voiture pour l’autisme in Sapiac on Saturday. 60 exceptional vehicles were present for car baptisms.

Saturday June 22, 9 a.m. and the weather looks like November. Regardless, the Lion’S Club of Montauban Ingres Quercy took over the Leclerc Sapiac car park for the 9th edition of En Voiture pour l’Autism (EVA) alongside the OPTEO Foundation which supports people with disabilities. Very early on, the public was already numerous, the rain not having frightened them. The vehicles, each more beautiful than the last, take their place in the parking lot. For car lovers, they are served. José Roda, from the organizing committee, indicates that during the day, more than 60 vehicles will allow the public to make a dream come true for some. The dream of driving a prestigious or classic vehicle for a few minutes.

Fund respite Saturdays

The field is exceptional, there are numerous Ferraris, some of them a traditional red but also blue or yellow. A Bentley is the delight of automotive aesthetes. The no less beautiful Ford Mustang, the Mercedes, Jaguar, Porche, Chevrolet Corvette: the choice is immense, everyone would want to try them. José Roda also emphasizes that all the owners came graciously in the name of a good cause.

At 11:30 a.m., the rain does not prevent the cars from taking part in a parade which takes them to downtown Montauban, the town hall being a partner in this operation. Gilles Lestel, president of Baroudeurs Solidaires, then meets his bikers to secure the procession.

All amounts collected will be donated to the autistic children’s section of the Pierre-Sarraut Medical-Educational Institute (IME) in Montauban. Anne-Marie Gil de Gomez, director of the IME, specifies that these sums will make it possible to finance respite Saturdays for the benefit of families of autistic children with the aim of socializing children and providing assistance to families.
