It's been a habit since 2014 in Mulhouse. Around the November 20th, international day for the rights of the childthe City of Haut-Rhin is organizing its “child rights fortnight”.
She will stand between the November 18 and 29, 2024 and will celebrate 10e edition.
Film debates to raise awareness among children
The event “is structured around three major highlights which aim to make young people aware of their rights and make them aware of the living conditions of children around the world”, according to the organizers.
A program of films/cartoons is offered by the Le Palace cinema. The themes covered are living together, the fight against discrimination and school bullying, ecology, the right to education, and even girl-boy equality.
Here is the program:
For Cycle 2 (CP, CE1 and Ce2):
• The Little Singulars
• Savages
• Dounia and the Princess of Aleppo
For Cycle 3 (CM1 and CM 2):
• Guardians of the planet
• Mother Superstar
• Be a teacher
Cycles 3 will also attend three film debate sessions:
- Wednesday November 20, at 2:30 p.m.: broadcast of the short film Les
Forgotten, produced by young Mulhouse residents thanks to the project grant
“Youth initiatives”. This film deals with the situation of street children in Türkiye.
The screening will be followed by a time for discussion. This session is aimed
to young people from different citizen councils. - Friday November 22 and 29: broadcast of the film Un Monde, followed by a
45-minute debate hosted by young people in civic service from Uniscité and
Unicef68 volunteers.
In total, 20 schools are concerned, i.e. 249 classes and more than 5,000 students.
