Around sixty engineers, agents of the Lyon Metropolis, demonstrated this Monday morning in front of the community's headquarters, in Lyon 3rd. Ufict-CGT, SNT CFE-CGC and CFTC had filed a strike notice to denounce a deliberation voted on at the last council and which affects the compensation scheme for principal engineers.
“There are no longer any career prospects, even though these are people who often carry out major issues for the community, who lead large teams. There is a lack of consideration,” underlines Sébastien Renevier, general secretary SNT (National Union of Territorial Workers) CFE CGC. The community employs more than 500 engineers.
“We are ten years late”
At the start of the school year, the Metropolis signed a memorandum of understanding with the union organizations committing nearly 14 million euros over the period 2024-2026 for the upgrading of all of its agents.
“It’s already good, this executive is doing something. But it’s catching up, since the creation of the Metropolis, we are ten years behind,” highlights Émeline Maul, Ufict-CGT deputy general secretary. A meeting is planned for this Thursday with the DGS.
