Next to five million euros were mobilized for the renovation of Place Saint-Jean from Melun (Seine-et-Marne). But to follow the arrival of Tzen and harmonize these renovationsthe boulevard Gambetta and the Courtille sector they too will benefit from work.

Starting next month and for a whole year, it’s the turn of boulevard Gambetta and of l’axe Courtille to begin their metamorphosis : “As of this summer, it’s the start of network rerouting work in the Courtille-Gambetta sector upstream of the arrival of Tzen 2,” she explains.

These “diversion” works are clearly the shift and the renovation networks: electricity, gas, water, sanitation, telephony or even the video surveillance. This is done to prevent emergency interventions that could take place later.

The town hall also wishes give a facelift to the road axis and adapt it to current concerns. She explains: “The sector’s project is ambitious, it aims to calm traffic, vegetate space and promote local heritageto offer residents a more pleasant and modern living environment.

Traffic impacted

Starting July 8 and extending until spring 2025 according to the forecast schedule, several traffic changes will be expected. “ Rue de la Courtillethe work will take place mainly on the side of the road. “From September 2024, entrances and exits of Sainte-Marie school will make side of Almontvia the Mail Gaillardon car park,” they add.

At the same time, the bus stops will be displaced and new stations will be created. Two trees will be slaughtered on the Saint-Liesne roundabout and five will be on Boulevard Gambetta.

They plan to slaughter 18 additional trees : “In the fall, the remaining 18 trees on Boulevard Gambetta will be removed. These plum trees, infected with a contagious disease called phellin, will be completely replaced by a species more adapted to the environment. »

They then promise to replant 25 trees.
