THE farmers are in anger and they intend to say it. A strong mobilisation is expected this Monday, November 18, 2024, particularly in the Nord department. Several locations have been defined in order to welcome the demonstrators who will light “the fires of anger“. Here is where gatherings are planned.

Angry farmers gathered in several places in the North

The FDSEA of the North and the Young Farmers call on all farmers in the department to first come together against MERCOSUR with the fires of anger. “We demand a total halt to negotiations and call on the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister to honor France's position by refusing this agreement which goes against the expectations of civil society in terms of food security, “ecology, climate and animal welfare”, explain the two unions in a press release.

19 gathering places have been defined in the North :

• Avesnes-sur-Helpe (Rotonde roundabout),
• Bettignies (at the border),
• Bourbourg (LA Linière),
• Cassel (steenvoorde route),
• Comines (boulevard de la Lys),
• Cysoing (Intermarché roundabout),

• The Chapel of Armentières (La Houssoye roundabout),
• Louvre (Gabiot roundabout),
• By the meter (motorway roundabout),
• Montay (Cérésia roundabout),
• Orchies (D957),
• Proville (roundabout before Carrefour),
• Quaëdypre (route de Looweg),
• Roncq (Buffalo Grill roundabout),
• Seclin (Paradise farm roundabout and McDonald’s),
• Valenciennes (Place du Canada roundabout).

The lights should be lit from 7:45 p.m.
