Created in 1997, the European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities (SEEPH) still has the same objective: breaking down barriers and building inclusive career paths. At Esat de Lons-le-Saunier, if we work on this objective throughout the year, those responsible are on the front line to prepare the event. International Duo Day takes place this Thursday, an opportunity for meetings between people with disabilities and employers.
Local businesses get involved
Professionals from the establishment managed by the APEI of Lons-le-Saunier are planning the participation of 50 people from different partner companies, made aware of the work of people with disabilities. 50 participations which concretely mean 50 reception locations. Dorothée Dupic, in charge of inclusion in the establishment for a year, does not spare her contacts.
“In 2021, we had five people registered for Duo day, last year around thirty and this year, around fifty,” says the director, Aurélie Garnier. “Behind these meetings, the idea is that the Duo day continues with an internship,” she explains. There are many Lédonian companies involved: Carglass, Cash swimming pools, Intex, Cœur de fleurs, Feuillette, McDonald's, Bricomarché, the sports garage, Oasis, the Guivelle bookstore, but also the police station and even Progress.
“It’s a win-win”
“A worker can very well be hired part-time in a company. The rest of the time, he keeps his job at Esat. It’s a win-win,” adds Aurélie Garnier enthusiastically. And the establishment is giving itself the means. France Travail, Cap Emploi, Prisme, PAVA, Agefiph and the Local Mission will also set up shop this Thursday at Esat, during the morning. Businesses are also invited to visit the structure.
