The Supervisory Board of Société Générale Maroc, meeting on May 23, 2024, appointed Mehdi Benbachir to the position of Managing Director, effective July 1, 2024.
Benbachir, also a member of the Management Board, brings with him a wealth of experience of more than six years in Investment Banking, specializing in mergers and acquisitions and private equity, before joining Société Générale Maroc in 2005, indicates a press release from the band.
Initially integrated into the Large Companies department, he quickly rose through the ranks to become head of the Consulting Department in 2008, where he supervised high balance sheet operations for corporate clients. In 2013, it expanded its scope to encompass all Investment Banking activities, including Advisory, Trading Room, Securities, Stock Exchange Intermediation, Research, Asset Management and Investment capital, we know.
In 2018, he was promoted to Deputy Managing Director, in charge of the Investment Banking Business Unit and the Strategy/Marketing/Quality/Innovation Service Unit. Two years later, in July 2020, he took charge of the Retail Business Unit, overseeing the retail, professional and small business markets.
His appointment to the Executive Board in December 2022 marked a new stage in his career. As of July 1, 2024, as General Manager, he will directly supervise the Regional Delegations, the Retail BU, the SME BU and the Marketing Department.
