A call heard. At the beginning of November 2024 Carine Parat Diaz and Cendra Ramirez, members of the parents' association of Collège Les Roussillous, asked, via a petition launched on Change.org, the immediate appointment of a mathematics teacher in this college located in Saint-Pierre-de-Lages (Haute-Garonne). And for good reason, 5th grade students and those in a 4th grade class at this establishment were deprived of this materiallack of teacher.
And it seems that this petition entitled “Educational Emergency: An Indispensable Math Teacher for the Collège des Roussillous” has borne fruit.
A victory for parents
Indeed, this Monday, November 18, 2024, two weeks after the start of mobilizationit was indicated to the editorial staff of The Independent Opinion :
Thanks to your mobilization on Change.org and our many collective efforts, we are pleased to announce a major victory: the principal of the college has signed a contract with a new mathematics teacher. She will provide lessons for a specific needs group in 5th grade as well as those for a 4th grade class. (…) Parents are delighted to know that their children will finally have the opportunity to learn with a qualified teacher.”
The Change.org site also indicates that “this petition was successful with 919 signatures!”.
It is therefore a victory for this association of parents of students, who also does not forget to thank “each of you for your unwavering support”.
