Synda, 10, spent a week in hospital after being violently beaten by classmates at the Square Michelet school, in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille. The child still bears the after-effects of the attack. His mother says.

“My daughter is changed”. Two weeks after the attack on 10-year-old Synda in her school in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille, her mother, Leïla, remains worried.“We start with six months of renewable psychology.

When you have a little girl who has insomnia, who cries all night, who talks to you about suicide, it turns you on.

After her attack on June 7 at school, Synda spent a week in the hospital. In a report made by the establishment, we can read that she was “hospitalized for severe head trauma with initial loss of consciousness and acute stress syndrome.

She suffered fifteen anxiety attacks a day in the hospital, describes his mother. Very violent anxiety attacks. She didn’t dare leave the room. She clung to me like a baby. She still does it. She is a little girl who is extremely independent. It’s day and night between the Synda before the event and the Synda after it.” Since then, the little girl in CM1-CM2 has seen a psychologist four times a week.

Leila, his mother, filed a complaint against the five children suspected of aggression. Three girls and two boys, enrolled in CM2. One of them was suspended for five days.

Synda’s mother does not want to incriminate the school: “It is not for me to say what their share of guilt is. It’s justice that will clear all this up. I have nothing to say about that.”

But today, she does not understand why the reports she made a year ago to a teaching team with whom she had good relations seem to have been minimized.

“The first time I reported last year that my daughter was being harassed, I was told ‘no, Synda responds too. Harassment is a big word, you shouldn’t use it all the time.’” Yet her daughter comes home crying every night.

“When I made reports, I was told that there [un garçon visé par les plaintes] was not possible, that he did not stop, that he made them miserable. That he wasn’t just like that with my daughter, that he did it to others, that they were going to talk to him, scold him… Did that help? I do not think so.”

According to the Academy, a specialized unit has been set up. An inspector must take stock of the situation and the academic director is in contact with the family.
