Skateboarding at the Paris 2024 Olympics? A real game changer which transformed the Place de la Concorde into a trick field. While the street and park events took place in the heart of the capital, the arena vibrated with ollies, grinds and flips that made the spectators sweat. And even if our French skaters, like Aurélien Giraud and Vincent Milou, didn't win gold, it's impossible to deny the boost effect on Parisian skate culture.
Supporting evidence: Place de la République remains the headquarters of the riderswhere it kicks and slides relentlessly, with a good dose of style. In this same vein, Skateboard Culture L’exposition arrives on December 7 and 8 at 78 rue du Temple, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris. Two days to explore the world of those who transform every sidewalk into a work of urban art. On the menu: photos by J. Grant Brittain (who has been photographing skateboarding for 30 years) and capsule collections signed Element Brand, Ed Banger, DB Journey, and 17 Rue du Jour. Limited edition pieces that celebrate skateboarding as a way of life, not just a sport.
Produced by Black Flag, with Bureau Berger as artistic director and a curator signed Morgan Bouvant and Sébastien Carayol, the exhibition, open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., plunges into the world of riders who reinvent Paris, day and night.
