Already at the helm of beautiful country houses located a few kilometers from Paris and a masterful complex nestled in Chamonix, (Very) Private Hotels have taken up residence on the wine routes. On the one hand, the hotel group whose immersive concept no longer needs to prove itself. On the other, theinterior designer Jordane Arrivetzat the head of his agency Notoire Agency. They meet within the walls of Bellevignea former wine residence nestled at the foot of the church of Chambolle-Musignya Burgundian village surrounded by the vineyards of the Côte de Nuits, the evocation of which is enough to make seasoned oenophiles shudder… But not only that.
A place of life and wine
Bordered by thick stone walls that only the imposing wrought iron gate allows us to glimpse, this new hotel is imbued with a decorative repertoire that goes against the grain of expressive overbidding, inevitably inspired by the surrounding reliefs, where the original building can be seen magnified by the informed gaze of Jordane Arrivetz. In the decor, there is the atmosphere and objects of a beautiful family home, of an intimate and warm place. “It is a project anchored in a history and in a locality where everything had to be invented.” The objective? “Desecrating wine tasting and these impressive wine regions at first glance by bringing a more festive spirit to it”, confides the interior designer who embellishes the old Burgundian stone of references carved on the vine. If everything recalls the emblems of a region with a strong identity, Jordane Arrivetz does not fall into the reductive failings.

Behind the imposing entrance bristling with columns, games of wit, colors and patterns resonate with a beautiful tone. “Each space has its own identity and not everything is visible at first glance”, explains Jordane Arrivetz. From the reception desk lacquered in sparkling green to the vinothèque hemmed in dark red, old objects and works on Burgundy, passing by the cuisine with its jovial authenticity, the restaurant crowned with a counter covered in vibrant tiles, the private lounge enveloped in a fresco inspired by surrounding landscapes and the tasting bar whose carpet is tattooed with intertwined vine leaves, each detail galvanizes the decor, transformed into a contemporary ode to wine. The interior designer adds: “I like the idea of creating a break between present and past to add extra soul to the place. If we undertook major china work in the region, I designed all the armchairs and tables in the establishment.” The proof is in the vaulted cellar where a sculptural ovoid table designed for conviviality sits imperiously among the 1000 or so bottles just waiting to be opened.
37 rooms like havens of softness
Spread across the property sheltered by century-old trees and on the two floors of the main residence, the 37 rooms offer the same style exercise. After scouring second-hand dealers and local artisans, Jordane Arrivetz selected each of the objects, different each time, which populate these soft settings crossed by beams or pierced by windows with a view of the village roofs. “Three color harmonies were available in the rooms and their graphic bathrooms: blue, green and Meursault red”, she explains. With accuracy and precision, the interior designer dresses the tactile velvet drapery headboardsadorns the walls with antique canvases and prints, covers the floor with a thick carpet stitched with discreet tiles, offers a dialogue between fringed armchairs and old wooden tables, classicism and modernity, ultimate comfort and a sense of purity.
