Auctions of a prestigious Bordeaux wine brought in 1.8 million euros on Sunday during a sale organized at Château Ducru-Beaucaillou in the Médoc, the Swiss house Baghera Wines announced on Monday.

The flagship lot of this sale organized for the tercentenary of the property established in 1720, a 225 liter barrel from the 2022 vintage was sold for 54,900 euros and another from the 2023 vintage was sold for 46,360 euros – beyond the low estimate in both cases.

Another particularly popular lot, six bottles from the 1953 vintage found a buyer for 36,600 euros.

The more than 4,000 bottles of this Grand Cru Classé put up for sale, ranging from bottle to barrel and divided into 603 lots, brought in a total of 1,852,692 euros ($1,982,380). The ten most expensive lots alone totaled 300,000 euros.

These auctions led by Baghera Wines, the first physical sale carried out on French soil by the Geneva house, concerned vintages ranging from 1887 to 2023 and having never left the Médoquin property, guaranteeing optimal conservation.
