Tim and Mélanie left Paris a few years ago to settle in the heart of Nièvre. They both fell under the spell of this rural department, where nature reigns supreme. Besides her work, Mélanie practices herbalism and knitting. As for Tim, handyman and determined, he set up his van conversion business.

The idea of leaving Paris had been making its way through Tim and Mélanie's minds for a while now. The couple decided to take the plunge before the confinement periods imposed by COVID 19. Today, like them, many city dwellers prefer the charm of the countryside to the hustle and bustle of big cities.
For Tim, there is no doubt, Nièvre is what suits him best. With Mélanie, they decided to opt for this green region where Tim's brother already lived, for its quality of life and its geographical location in the center of France. It must be said that the couple likes to travel, especially in a converted van. What could be more logical for Tim than to set up his new professional activity in the heart of his adopted region, directly linked to his passion for van travel?
In November 2021, he created Van Adventures in Saxi-Bourdon, the town of Niverne which welcomed him and Mélanie with open arms. A vehicle conversion company, Van Adventures offers to transform your utility vehicles into a comfortable travel van. Modular, the vehicle furniture offered by Tim adapts to the needs of each of its customers.
Mélanie also took advantage of the setting offered by her new place of life to develop activities that are dear to her. A fan of herbalism and knitting, she devotes herself whenever she can to her two passions and started a YouTube channel of creative advice to share her knitted projects, “In the shade of the cactus“.
Like other French regions, Nièvre encourages nature-seeking city dwellers like Mélanie and Tim to come and settle in the countryside. Nièvre Attractive, the department's tourism attractiveness and development agency, supports, like Tim, local actors, neo-rural or not, in the development of their activity. In Côte-d'Or there is the company Van&Bois, specialized in vehicle fittings located in Venarey les Laumes. Companies are present more widely in France, because demand is increasing. In the Landes, for example, we find Simple Vans.
