It is precise, low irradiation dose and provides high quality images of the entire body: we present EOSedge, a new imaging system dedicated to the diagnosis of orthopedic pathologies. This equipment has been available in Baie-Mahault since the beginning of November. A first in Guadeloupe.

Guadeloupe now has cutting-edge imaging equipment: the EOSedge system, for “osteoarticular imaging and orthopedic care“. It was put into operation on November 4, at the Acacias Radiology Center, in Baie-Mahault.

The technology of the device is innovative. It exposes patients less to X-rays, therefore reducing the risk of irradiation. It also offers more details to doctors, mainly in the field of orthopedics.
Practitioners were therefore waiting for it, in particular pediatricians and pediatric orthopedists, who monitor scoliosis in children and adolescents.

Radiography using the EOS technique irradiates patients less. Therefore, children can benefit from it, in a reasonable number, without risk of being exposed to cancer, for example.

The diagnosis of adult pathologies will also be made easier with this system.

It is a system that will answer many of the questions that surgeons ask before making a hip or knee prosthesis.

Doctor Benoit Dominique Tyndal, radiologist

It was time for this innovation to benefit patients in the archipelago. has had them for a long time and there are four in .
