Four women whose vital prognosis is in jeopardy. This is the outcome of the traffic accident which occurred this Friday evening, around 8 p.m., on the D471, in the territory of the commune of Pontcarré (Seine-et-Marne), just south of the A4 motorway.
A Dacia in which there were three women aged between 28 and 52 living in Garges-lès-Gonesse (Val-d'Oise) and Sevran (Seine-Saint-Denis) deported onto the departmental road. The car was traveling south, towards Ozoir. According to testimonies collected by the police after the accident, the car swerved several times before the tragedy. While swerving a final time, the Dacia hit a Citroën which was traveling in the other direction, driven by a 26-year-old woman living in Tournan-en-Brie. Under the effect of the impact, this second vehicle spun and collided with a third car, a Peugeot 307 driven by a 29-year-old woman from Gretz-Armainvilliers.
The Dacia and the Citroën ended up in the ditch, while the Peugeot came to rest on the traffic lanes. Police officers from the Torcy police station, firefighters and Smur crews went to the scene. The caregivers and rescuers examined the five victims.
The four occupants of the Dacia and the Citroën were seriously injured. They suffered from trauma to the chest, open fractures to the legs and injuries to the pelvis and shoulders. The driver of the Peugeot had lighter injuries.
Supported by rescue workers, they were admitted to the hospitals of Jossigny, Beaujon (Hauts-de-Seine) and Kremlin-Bicêtre (Val-de-Marne). One of the victims had to be transported by helicopter, given his state of health.
Police officers from the local judicial police service at the Torcy police station have opened an investigation. Samples to determine whether alcohol or drugs had been consumed could not be taken. This Saturday morning, investigators did not know whether the state of health of the injured had improved.
The rescue operation lasted three hours and required this section of the D471 to be closed.
