A 70-year-old man was found dead on a lawn in Gouarec, in the south of Côtes-d'Armor, Wednesday November 13. The investigation was resolved in 48 hours thanks to a drug trafficker, who himself contacted the gendarmes of the digital brigade. He explained to them that he had discovered the body… in the toilet of the home of one of his friends (about a hundred meters from where the victim was later found, on the lawn). Questioned in police custody, he specified that there was also a weapon in this accommodation at 9 rue Nationale and ended up admitting that he himself had come there to deliver narcotics. In his phone, messages could be linked to the victim, who also lived in Gouarec.

The body was also seen by a passerby in the morning, on a lawn about a hundred meters from the house.

He got confused with the victim

Following the denunciation, the GIGN (National Gendarmerie Intervention Group) intervened at the suspect's home to arrest this 30-year-old man. He admitted to having “confused” with the 70 year old manTuesday, November 12 at the end of the afternoon, gave him a blow which caused him to fall to the ground. He then transported the victim alone and placed her at the back of the parking lot, thinking she was still alive. He was indicted for murder and placed in pre-trial detention.

The autopsy carried out on Thursday revealed several fracturesinjuries to the face and thorax, wounds to the hands in particular, made with a sharp object. The victim also had a burn on his wrist.

The drug dealer, for his part, explained that he preferred to denounce his friend, believing that “he was dangerous” and that he had already seen him violent with the victim. He admitted to selling drugs in large quantities via the Telegram application The search carried out at his home revealed significant quantities of narcotics: nearly 24 kg of cannabis resin, nearly 1.5 kg of cannabis herb, 137 grams of cocaine and 13. stamps of ecstasy He was sentenced in court on prior admission of guilt to two years in prison, six of which were suspended, he was immediately imprisoned.

No link between murder and drug trafficking

“He was not no link established between the victim's death and violations of drug legislation revealed by the investigation”, concludes the public prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc.
