By joining forces with the 8th edition of the Mois Kréyol National Festival of Creole Cultures and Languages and the Toulouse association KA'Disyon, Chercheurs d'Autres are offering the Muretan public a day dedicated to the discovery of otherness. This Sunday, November 17 in Muret, at 12 p.m. Creole lunch with Guyanese specialties at the restaurant “Comme à la M.”
At 5 p.m., screening of the documentary Kaawaï Na Ana produced by Chercheurs d'Autres (released in August 2024 and selected in 8 international festivals), followed by a debate moderated by David Crochet, on the end-of-mourning traditions of the Aluku people in Guyana at the Théâtre des Préambules. At 7:30 p.m., screening of two short films on the Amerindian cultures of Guyana, at the restaurant “Comme
A la M.”
And at 8 p.m., discovery meal of Guyana and tasting of old rums, with a presentation on the history of the
sugar cane and a Ti Punch Do It Yourself workshop.
The event will highlight the cultural richness of Guyana through screenings, meals and discussions.
Created in 2008 and based both in Occitania and Guyana, the Toulouse association Chercheurs d'Autres produces films, multimedia exhibitions, workshops, training, and meetings with a focus on highlighting cultural heritage. intangible which outlines the identities and particularities of peoples while creating intercultural exchanges between cultures.
