During the fifth day of the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations (CAN 2025), Morocco produced a brilliant performance by largely winning against Gabon (5-1), Friday evening at the Franceville stadium.

Despite a quick opening of the score by Dénis Bouanga for Gabon in the 5th minute, the Atlas Lions quickly took control of the game. Jamal Harkass equalized in the 17th minute, followed by a lightning double from Brahim Diaz to the 21st and 23rd minutes, allowing Morocco to take the lead at half-time. In the second half, Youssef En-Nesyri (81st) and Ismael Saibari (90th) sealed the Moroccan victory.

Group B standings
Thanks to this success, Morocco remains undefeated in the qualifiers and consolidates its first place with a perfect total of 15 points in five matches. Gabon, despite this defeat, validates its qualification for the CAN with 7 points. Lesotho, winner of the Central African Republic (1-0) in the other match of the group, is third with 4 points, while the Central African Republic brings up the rear with 3 points.
This performance confirms Moroccan domination in group B and places the Atlas Lions among the favorites for the final phase of CAN 2025.
