This Tuesday, November 19, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the warning sirens of the Arkéma platform at Château-Arnoux Saint-Auban will sound. Don't panic, it's an exercise. At the same time, the populations of Château-Arnoux Saint-Auban and neighboring municipalities (L'Escale, Les Mées, Malijai, Montfort, Volonne) will receive an SMS alert message on their cell phones. They could also have a notification associated with a sound signal even if silent mode is activated. No action is expected from the population.
The objective of this exercise is to test the security measures put in place by the Arkéma and Meta-Regeneration sites in association with the civil security services of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence prefecture. The Arkéma and Meta-Regeneration sites are in fact subject to risks inherent to their activities. The exercise will therefore make it possible to check the functioning of the alert systems, on the one hand, and on the other hand to raise awareness among the surrounding population of the reflexes to adopt in the face of a real crisis situation.
