The night watchman at a Paris hotel was found dead during the night from Friday to Saturday, after an attempted theft of the establishment’s safe, a police source said.
Around 11:30 p.m. Friday evening, the police were called to an abandoned safe in a street in the 11th arrondissement, this source explained.
Four hooded men
Inside a nearby hotel, they found the lifeless body of a night watchman in his dressing room, “lying on his bed tied up with multiple bruises”, continued this source. A witness said he saw around 9:30 p.m. “four hooded men” who attempted to load the safe into a van, before abandoning it in the street and fleeing in the vehicle.
Safe “contained the hotel receipts of the month”, according to the police source. Bottles of white spirit were found in the night watchman’s dressing room. He had already been attacked ten days before by several people “pretending to be delivery men” and who had “tried to steal the safe”according to this source.
