Tradition

“We are delighted that this tradition can continue. The municipality wants to maintain all village festivals, indicates the mayor, Olivier Houdy. The rose garden festival brings together all the inhabitants of the new commune.”

This demonstration was born on June 18, 1903, in Bullou. To thank her for having “given bread to his mother and grandfather”, Pierre Riollet from Ivry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne) bequeathed his property to the town of Bullou. This legacy was used for his burial, and the balance to be crowned, each year on the 1st is Sunday in July, closest to Saint Peter’s Day, “a poor and wise girl” born in Bullou and less than twenty-one years old.

The first was crowned in 1908. The legacy was spent a long time ago, but the town considered it important to maintain this local activity.
