This Thursday morning, the north-east of Tarn and the south-west of Aveyron suffered a major power cut, plunging around 15,000 homes into darkness, according to information from The Dispatch.

The incident, which occurred around 8 a.m., was due to a technical problem at an electrical substation located in Baraqueville, in Aveyron. This malfunction quickly deprived several residential areas of power, forcing residents to manage this unexpected interruption in their power supply.

Gradual recovery and end of the incident

The network manager's teams immediately mobilized to intervene at the station in question and restore electricity. By 10 a.m., two hours after the start of the incident, around 6,500 homes had already regained power, a gradual return which relieved some of the inhabitants of Tarn and Aveyron.

The situation returned to normal for all affected households at the end of the morning, after an intensive effort by technicians to stabilize the network. RTE is currently continuing its investigations to determine the exact causes of this major outage, while expressing its regrets at the inconvenience suffered by residents of the impacted areas.
